Cinema City Czech was founded in the Czech Republic in the year 1999. The first multiplex of the Cinema City chain in the Czech Republic was Cinema City Galaxie. This was only the beginning of a very extensive development of the chain of cinemas in the country.
At this time, Cinema City Czech is the part of Cineworld PLC Group – one of the leading cinema groups in Europe. The Group operates in 10 countries: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, United Kingdom, Israel, Hungary,, Bulgaria, Romania, Ireland and USA. Currently, the Group operates more than 750 movie theaters.

In Czech Republic, Cinema City operates 13 cinemas located in 7 cities (Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pilsen, Pardubice, Ústí nad Labem, Liberec) offering the customer superior experience by technologies as IMAX® and 4DX™ in selected locations.
